Welcome to the Club: By club, I mean community, of course

Welcome to Neighborhood Growth Collaborative’s Blog (NGC for short): Where Mental Health Meets Real Life

Hey there! 👋 I’m Cynthia, a licensed mental health counselor who’s been there; whether "there" means staring at the ceiling at 3 AM overthinking a text, arguing about who forgot to buy toilet paper (again), or wondering if my brain’s "stress mode" has a permanent "ON" switch.

This blog exists because therapy shouldn’t feel like a mystery wrapped in a textbook. Whether you’re a stressed-out parent, a couple stuck in the "how was your day?" rut, a young adult drowning in "what am I doing with my life?" vibes, or an LGBTQ+ human navigating a world that doesn’t always get it, you deserve support that actually gets you.

What You’ll Find Here:
Real talk about mental health: no jargon, just usable tips (and the occasional meme).
Posts like:
"How to Set Boundaries Without Feeling Like a Villain"
"Why Your Teen’s Eye Rolls Might Actually Be a Cry for Help"
"Pride Month Survival Guide for the ‘I’m-Too-Tired-to-Party’ Queer Folks"
Proof that therapy isn’t just for "crises"; it’s for anyone who wants to untangle their brain spaghetti.

About My Practice:
At Neighborhood Growth Collaborative, I blend evidence-based therapy with "oh wow, that’s so relatable" energy. Think of me as your no-BS guide through anxiety, relationships, identity, and all the messy in-between. My office (virtual for now or in-person in 2026) is a judgment-free zone where:
Your ADHD brain is welcome.
Your "I don’t know how to adult today" feelings are valid.
We can laugh about the absurdity of being human while still doing the work.

Welcome in; let’s get real.
